Montreal, November 15, 2018. Midland Exploration Inc. (\u201cMidland\u201d)<\/strong>(TSX-V: MD)<\/strong> is pleased to announce new gold results obtained during its September exploration campaign conducted on the Willbob project, wholly owned by Midland. The September exploration campaign was focussed on further channel and grab sampling of the \u201cAnts\u201d gold zone outcrop, discovered in summer 2018. The September campaign was primarily aimed at sampling and further channel sampling the outcrop of the Ants gold zone discovered in the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n\n HighlightsThe<\/strong>Ants Zone is now confirmed to be gold-bearing over at least 50 metres in length, and 5 to 24 metres in width<\/strong>, in outcrop. It is open to the southeast along strike and to the southwest across strike, under overburden. New channels on the new Ants gold zone yielded the following gold values: <\/p>\n\n Channelling of the \u201cAnts-4G\u201d zone, located 100 meters east of the Ants zone, yielding 2.22 g\/t Au over 4.5 metres<\/strong> (channel ANTS-18-04), , with grab samples up to 6.64 g\/t Au. 1.78 g\/t Au over 23.3 meters, including 3.19 g\/t Au over 10.0 meters (channel ANTS-18-03).3.33 g\/t Au over 5.0 meters (channel ANTS-18-02).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Note that grab samples are selective by nature and values are not representative of mineralized zones. The true thickness of the mineralized zones intersected by channels is not known yet.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n The Ants area was discovered by surface prospecting in July 2018. It occurs as a large outcropping zone containing disseminated pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite as well as quartz veinlets hosted in a strongly chloritized and ankeritized diorite. A single channel sample (ANTS-18-01) taken in July and intersecting the western portion of the zone returned 0.81 g\/t Au over 5.8 metres, including 1.48 g\/t Au over 2.8 metres. New channel sampling completed in September significantly extended the gold zone to the southeast while also returning higher gold values. Channel ANTS-18-03, located 30 metres southeast of ANTS-18-02, returned 1.78 g\/t Au over 23.3 metres, including 3.19 g\/t Au over 10.0 metres<\/strong>. The interval is open to the southwest, as the last sample in the channel returned 0.6 g\/t Au. The area is also completely open to the southeast.<\/p>\n\n Channel ANTS-18-02, located approximately 20 metres southeast of ANTS-18-01, returned 3.33 g\/t Au over 5.0 metres<\/strong>. This interval remains open to the southwest as the last channel sample returned 2.2 g\/t Au. <\/p>\n\n The Ants-4G area is located approximately 100 meters from the ANTS-18-03 slot. A July grab sample from this zone graded 4.27 g\/t Au in a pyrrhotite-mineralized diorite with chlorite-ankerite alteration. It is visually similar to the Ants area. A channel sample on the Ants-4G zone returned 2.22 g\/t Au over 4.5 metres<\/strong> (ANTS-18-04). Visible gold was observed in tension quartz veins.<\/p>\n\n These new results once again highlight the strong gold potential of the Willbob project. Significant and extensive gold zones can still be found in outcrop. Mechanical stripping of the Ants and Ants-4G areas is planned for the next field season, below the surface deposits. Additional prospecting will also be conducted around the Ants discovery, as most of the surrounding area has not been thoroughly prospected before.<\/p>\n\n Quality control<\/strong><\/p>\n\n The design of the exploration program and the interpretation of the results is performed by qualified personnel using a quality assurance\/quality control program that conforms to industry best practices, including the use of standards and blanks for every 20 samples. Rock samples from the project are analyzed for gold by standard fire assay on 30-gram fractions with atomic absorption finish (Au-AA23) or gravimetric finish (Au-GRA21) at ALS laboratories in Val-d’Or, Quebec. Samples with visible gold or greater than 1.0 g\/t Au were also analyzed by a wire mesh procedure with fire assays (Au-SCR21); the results of this method were used for interval calculations when available.
