(&#8221; <strong>SOQUEM<\/strong> &#8220;). The Casault property consists of 315 claims (173 square kilometres) and covers the Sunday Lake Fault over more than 20 kilometers, approximately 40 kilometers east of the Detour Lake mine. This open pit mine contains mineral reserves of 14.1 million ounces of gold (&#8220;Moz Au&#8221;) consisting of proven reserves of 87.7 million tonnes grading 1.27 g\/t Au for 3.58 million Moz Au and probable reserves of 353.8 million tonnes grading 0.92 g\/t Au for 10.49 Moz Au.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vortex Zone Highlights<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>During the months of September and October 2017, a diamond drilling program consisting of five (5) holes spaced a minimum of 100 meters apart and totaling 1,638.0 meters was completed on the Casault property. During this campaign, an important gold system comprising four (4) new parallel zones named <strong>Vortex 475, 450, 435 and 425<\/strong> was identified. The envelope containing these mineralized zones forms a corridor approximately 50 meters wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest zone identified to date on Vortex, the <strong>450 Zone<\/strong>, was intersected at shallow depths vertically (75 to 250 metres) in all holes of this program and over a minimum strike length of 500 metres. This zone, oriented east-west with a strong dip to the north, remains completely open in all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vortex 450 Zone (Best results)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1.38 g\/t Au over 26.5 m incl. 7.87 g\/t Au over 2.2 m incl. 14.55 g\/t Au over 0.8 m<\/strong>  (CAS-17-96)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1.30 g\/t Au over 23.5 m incl. 3.46 g\/t Au over 6.0 m incl. 23.6 g\/t Au over 0.5 m<\/strong>  (CAS-17-95)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2.10 g\/t Au over 6.7 m incl. 6.82 g\/t Au over 0.4 m and 5.58 g\/t Au over 0.4 m<\/strong>  (CAS-17-93)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1.91 g\/t Au over 7.2 m incl. 5.18 g\/t Au over 1.4 m<\/strong>  (CAS-17-94)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong> 435 Zone<\/strong>, located approximately 15 metres south of the 450 Zone, was intersected mainly to the west in holes CAS-17-93 and CAS-17-94. This area remains completely open to the west and in depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Vortex Zone 435 (Best results)<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3.50 g\/t Au over 2.8 m incl. 5.0 g\/t Au over 0.95 m<\/strong>  (CAS-17-93)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the 450 and 435 zones, two other gold anomalous zones (475 and 425) were intersected in a few holes, respectively about 25 meters north of the 450 zone and about 10 meters south of the 435 zone. Hole CAS-17-96 intersected <strong>18.7 g\/t Au over 0.50 metres<\/strong> on Zone 475.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This drilling campaign completed in the fall of 2017, targeted the lateral extensions of the new gold zone that had been identified in hole CAS-17-86 on section 628 100E in the vicinity of the Sunday Lake Fault<em>(see Midland&#8217;s press release of September 21, 2017<\/em>). This hole intersected a gold zone grading 3.1 g\/t Au over 1.40 meters (180.50 to 181.90 m), including an interval of 3.94 g\/t Au over 0.90 meters (181.00 to 181.90 m). This zone was included within a large gold anomalous zone strongly altered in hematite, carbonates and albite that had returned 0.56 g\/t Au over 16.0 meters between 180.50 and 196.50 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 1: Best results from CAS-17-92 to CAS-17-96<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"639\" height=\"898\" src=\"https:\/\/midlandexploration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Table-1-17-01-2018.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/midlandexploration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Table-1-17-01-2018.png 639w, https:\/\/midlandexploration.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Table-1-17-01-2018-213x300.png 213w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: True thicknesses cannot be determined with the information available to date, so intervals are reported in core length.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vortex gold zone is characterized by alkaline intrusions of monzonitic composition accompanied by alteration dominated by hematite, magnetite, carbonates, albite and disseminated pyrite mineralization. These alkaline intrusions are often found at the contacts and within a sequence of highly deformed fragmental rocks near the regional Sunday Lake fault. The high-grade Lower Detour gold deposit (58N Zone), which is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Vortex, is also known to be associated with alkaline intrusions. This type of gold mineralization is known as &#8220;syenite-associated disseminated gold&#8221; (Robert, 2001). Several very important gold deposits in the southern Abitibi belong to this same type of deposit, including Canadian Malartic, Young-Davidson and Holt-McDermott (Robert, 2001).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Midland and SOQUEM are extremely encouraged by these new results obtained in the Vortex zone. A drilling program consisting of ten (10) holes totalling more than 3,500 metres has been approved to test the lateral extensions to a depth of between 150 and 250 metres. All samples were analyzed for gold by fire assay with an atomic absorption (AA) finish on a 30-gram fraction with a gravimetric finish reanalysis for values above 3.0 g\/t Au. For quality control purposes, certified standards and blanks were inserted into each shipment at regular intervals throughout the sample run.
