Gino Roger, ing.

Président et chef de la direction

Depuis le 1er novembre 2006, Gino Roger est président et chef de la direction d’Exploration Midland inc. En 1990, il a obtenu un diplôme de l’Université Laval en génie géologique. De mai 1990 à octobre 2006, M. Roger a été géologue de projets, sénior et régional d’Xstrata, de Falconbridge et de Noranda. À ce titre, il participait activement à la génération, l’acquisition et la négociation de bons nombres de projets et à la découverte de gisements de métaux usuels. Il a principalement travaillé au Québec, en Ontario, au BC-Yukon et en Suède sur différents projets et environnements métallogéniques: aurifères, VMS, Sedex, MVT et IOCG. Son équipe et lui ont reçu le prestigieux prix du prospecteur de l’année de l’AEMQ en 2005 pour la découverte du dépôt de West-Ansil. M. Roger est membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. Il a agi à titre d’administrateur de l’Association de l’exploration minière du Québec (AEMQ) pendant plus de 28 ans et est toujours administrateur au sein du CONSOREM.

Jean-Pierre Janson

Président du conseil

Depuis 2019, Jean-Pierre Janson est consultant pour Patrimoine Richardson Limitée. De 2005 à 2019, il a été directeur principal, gestion nationale du patrimoine, auprès de Richardson GMP Limited. Il est également administrateur et président du conseil d’administration d’Exploration Midland inc. depuis 2005. Au cours des 30 dernières années, M. Janson a occupé les fonctions de directeur général auprès de Services financiers CIBC Wood Gundy (Québec) Inc. (Est du Canada) et occupait des postes de direction chez Merrill Lynch Canada Inc. et Midland Walwyn Inc. Il est également administrateur de Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. depuis mai 2004 et fiduciaire de BTB Real Investment Trust depuis septembre 2007. De plus, il est administrateur de SIDEX s.e.c. et d’Exploration Harfang.  En plus de 30 ans dans le secteur des services financiers, il s’est bâti une réputation de confiance et de respect.

Ingrid Martin

Chef de la direction financière

Ingrid Martin a obtenu un baccalauréat en administration des affaires de l’École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) de Montréal. Elle est membre de l’ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec depuis 1990 et possède une vaste expérience à titre de consultante auprès de compagnies publiques. Elle agit à titre de chef de la direction financière pour Vior Inc. Mme Martin consacre environ 40 % de son temps à ses fonctions au sein d’Exploration Midland.

Paul Archer

Administrateur

M. Paul Archer est bachelier en génie géologique et détenteur d’une maîtrise en sciences de la terre. Il compte plus de 35 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie minière et plus particulièrement dans l’exploration de l’or et des métaux de base en terrain archéen. Il a apporté son expertise à diverses sociétés minières dont Shell Minerals, Explorations Noranda, Northgate Explorations, Westminer Canada et SOQUEM où il occupait le poste de directeur régional pour le nord du Québec. Le 1er mai 1996, M. Archer s’est joint à l’équipe de Mines Virginia à titre de vice-président exploration et acquisitions et administrateur. M. Archer a travaillé de près à la découverte et au développement du projet Éléonore depuis les premiers travaux de terrain jusqu’à la conclusion de la vente du gisement à Goldcorp. En novembre 2014, il s’est joint à l’équipe de direction d’Osisko suite au regroupement de cette dernière avec Virginia. Il a été élu président de l’Association des Prospecteurs du Québec en 1996 et 1997. Au cours des dernières années, M. Archer s’est vu décerner, au nom de Virginia plusieurs prix prestigieux dont, le Bill Dennis au PDAC en 2006 pour la découverte du gisement d’Éléonore.

Annie Dutil

Administratrice

Annie Dutil est membre de l’Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec et est contrôleur corporatif chez Nomad. Mme Dutil compte plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans le secteur minier, particulièrement dans les domaines de la comptabilité publique, de la conformité aux obligations en matière d’informations financières et des questions règlementaires. Avant de se joindre à Nomad, Mme Dutil a occupé plusieurs postes chez PwC, notamment à titre de directrice principale où elle a dirigé l’équipe Marchés des capitaux et services-conseils en comptabilité du bureau de Montréal. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions actuelles et précédentes, elle a assisté plusieurs sociétés dans leurs activités sur les marchés des capitaux, entre autres en ce qui a trait aux premiers appels publics à l’épargne, aux opérations de financement, à des transactions transfrontalières et à des problèmes comptables et réglementaires complexes. Mme Dutil est la co-fondatrice du chapitre montréalais de Women in Mining et participe à de nombreuses activités communautaires et philanthropiques alors qu’elle est membre du Conseil d’administration de la Factry, l’école des sciences de la créativité, et du Théâtre de la Banquette Arrière.

Jean des Rivières

Administrateur

Détenteur d’un baccalauréat ès sciences en géologie de l’Université du Québec à Montréal et d’une maîtrise ès sciences en géologie de l’École Polytechnique de Montréal affiliée à l’Université de Montréal. M. Jean des Rivières cumule plus de 35 ans d’expérience diversifiée des secteurs de l’exploration et de l’exploitation minière qui a été acquise dans plus de 50 pays. Jusqu’à tout récemment, il occupait le poste de vice-président global, exploration des métaux chez BHP et a auparavant occupé des postes techniques et de gestion chez Rio Algom, BHP et Noranda. Avec BHP, M. des Rivières a présidé le comité d’inclusion et de diversité des Amériques. Après une carrière couronnée de succès, il s’est récemment joint aux conseils d’administration de First Majestic Silver Corp., Montero Mining and Exploration Ltd. et Exploration Midland Inc.9

Simon Lussier

Director

Mr. Lussier holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and entrepreneurship from McGill University and an MBA in finance from HEC Montréal.  He has more than 35 years of diverse experience in the financial industry.  From 2012 until end of 2023, he held the position of Partner, Vice President and Senior Advisor at Van Berkom Global Asset Management, member of the Executive Management Committee (EMC), including more than 6 years as Chief Compliance Officer.  From 2006 to 2012, Mr. Lussier was Senior Vice-President, Institutional Equities at Laurentian Bank Securities, member of the EMC, where he was able to follow Midland’s exploration projects since its inception.  From 1994 to 2006, he was Partner, Director of the Montreal office of Sprott Securities. Mr. Lussier currently offers financial literacy to students and professionals, and joins, in 2024, Midland’s Board of Directors.

Géologue de projet pour Exploration Midland depuis 2012, Richard est détenteur d’un baccalauréat en géologie des ressources à l`UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal). Avant de se joindre à l’équipe, il a été géologue de projet pour Services Technominex-Mines Aurizon, Sirios et Unigold sur des projets d’exploration aurifère. Entre 1997 et 2006, il a été géologue de projet (5 ans) et di-recteur technique (4 ans) pour le Fond d`Exploration Minier du Nunavik (FEMN). En début de carrière, Richard a travaillé comme prospecteur pour SOQUEM, Virginia Gold/Barrick Gold sur des projets aurifères à la Baie James et dans le Grand Nord québécois, il a aussi été impliqué dans l’exploration de la découverte de Eskay Creek en Colombie-Britannique.

Louis-Philippe Richard, géo.

Géologue de projet pour Exploration Midland, Louis-Philippe est détenteur d’un baccalauréat en géologie de l’Université Laval. Avant de se joindre à l’équipe, il a travaillé 4 ans pour Nemaska Exploration/Monarques Ressources/Nemaska Lithium dans le secteur de Némiscau où il a géré et participé à des campagnes d’exploration pour le lithium, l’or et les métaux de base. Il a également participé au développement du projet avancé de lithium Whabouchi.

Philippe Allard, Géo. M.Sc.

Géologue pour Exploration Midland depuis mai 2019, Philippe est détenteur d’un baccalauréat en géologie et d’une maitrise en sciences de la terre de l’UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal). Avant de se joindre à l’équipe, il a été géologue d’exploration pour Goldcorp, Ressources Sirios, Unigold et le Fond d’Exploration Minier du Nunavik (FEMN). En début de carrière, Philippe a aussi travaillé comme assistant géologue et géologue pour Mines d’Or Virginia, Cambiex, Miramar Mining, Noranda Exploration, SOQUEM et Services Miniers du Nord sur des projets aurifères et de métaux de bases, principalement à la Baie James. Il a été à l’origine de la découverte par prospection du gisement Cheechoo à la Baie James en 2010.

Romain Deflin, Géo.

Géologue de projet pour Midland Exploration, Romain Deflin est détenteur d’un diplôme d’ingénieur géologue de l’ENSG (École Nationale Supérieure de Géologie à Nancy) ainsi que d’une maîtrise en Exploration des Ressources Minérales de l’Université de Lorraine. Il a complété un stage de 4 mois avec Exploration Midland avant de se joindre à l’équipe de façon permanente en 2019.

Sylvain Trépanier, géo.

Géologue consultant

Plus de 20 ans d’expérience en exploration et recherche minérale au Québec.

Sylvain Trépanier est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en géologie, d’une maîtrise en science de la Terre et d’un baccalauréat en informatique et génie logiciel de l’UQAM. Il a commencé sa carrière chez Noranda en 1995 et a œuvré sur différents projets au Québec jusqu’en 2001. Il a été chercheur au CONSOREM de 2004 à 2012. Durant ses années au CONSOREM, il a réalisé de nombreux projets de recherche appliqués à l’exploration minérale et a développé une expertise reconnue au Québec dans différents domaines reliés à l’exploration : géochimie des sédiments de lacs, des ruisseaux et des tills, lithogéochimie des altérations, traitement statistique des données et évaluation du potentiel minéral par intelligence artificielle. Il est l’auteur de plusieurs articles scientifiques, rapports de recherche et présentations publiques. Il a conçu et développé le logiciel Lithomodeleur pour le traitement de la géochimie, qui est aujourd’hui couramment utilisé au Québec par les entreprises d’exploration, les gouvernements et les universités. De 2012 à 2016, il a œuvré chez Mines Virginia et Redevances Aurifères Osisko à titre de géologue de recherche sénior et a été impliqué dans la plupart des projets de l’entreprise à la Baie-James et dans la Fosse du Labrador. Il est récipiendaire du prix Jean-Descarreaux de l’AEMQ en 2011 avec l’équipe du CONSOREM. M. Trépanier s’est joint à l’équipe de Midland en novembre 2016 comme VP exploration Baie-James/Nord du Québec.

Chloé Esnault, P.Geo M.Sc.

Project Geologist

More than 10 years of experience in mineral exploration in various geological environment and commodities in Ontario, Nunavut and Quebec.

 

Project geologist for Midland since June 2022, Chloé holds a Master’s degree in Resources and Geodynamics from the Université d’Orléans in France and a post-graduate diploma from UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal) in Exploration and No Renewable Resource Management in 2011. Before joining the team, she began her career for Richmont Mines Inc. on exploration projects in the Rouyn-Noranda sector and then continued her career with various consulting firms such as Technominex and InnovExplo. From 2014 to 2016, Chloé was involved in the development of the Horne 5 project of Falco Resources.

Maxime Dour, M.Sc., GIT

Geologist-in-Training

Geologist-in-Training for Midland Exploration, Maxime Dour holds a Master’s degree in Geosciences Planets Resources and Environment, specializing in Mineral Resources from the Université de Lorraine. Since 2023, he has also held a Master’s degree in Geology and Geological Engineering from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. During his research project, he focused on characterizing and understanding Cu-Au mineralization in the Chapais-Chibougamau camp. He is particularly interested in metallogeny, cartography, GIS and geochemistry. During his studies, he worked for SOQUEM and participated in CONSOREM research projects. Maxime joined Midland’s team in February 2022 and is involved in projects in the Labrador Trough and Abitibi.

Gino Roger, ing.

He mainly worked in Quebec, Ontario, BC-Yukon and Sweden on different metallogenic projects and environments: gold, VMS, Sedex, MVT and IOCG. He and his team received the prestigious QMEA prospector of the year award in 2005 for the discovery of the West-Ansil deposit. Mr. Roger is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. He acted as an administrator of the Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (QMEA) for more than 28 years and is still an administrator of CONSOREM.

Over the past 30 years, Mr. Janson has served as Managing Director at CIBC Wood Gundy Financial Services (Quebec) Inc. (Eastern Canada) and held executive positions at Merrill Lynch Canada Inc. and Midland Walwyn Inc. He has also been a director of Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. since May 2004 and a trustee of BTB Real Investment Trust since September 2007. In addition, he is a director of SIDEX s.e.c. and Harfang Exploration. In over 30 years in the financial services industry, he has built a reputation of trust and respect.

INGRID MARTIN

Chief Financial Officer

Ingrid Martin holds a Bachelor in Business Management from the École des hautes études commerciales (HEC), in Montréal, Quebec. She is a member of the Order of Chartered professional accountants of Quebec since 1990 and possesses a vast experience as consultant for public companies. She acts, also, as Chief Financial Officer of Vior Inc. Mrs. Martin is devoting 40% of her time to Midland Exploration.

PAUL ARCHER

Director

Paul Archer has a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering and a Master’s degree in Earth Science. He has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry, particularly in exploration for gold and base metals in Archean terrains. He developed his expertise working with various companies, including Shell Minerals, Noranda Exploration, Northgate Explorations, Westminer Canada and SOQUEM, where he was Regional Manager for Northern Quebec. On May 1, 1996, Mr. Archer joined Virginia Mines as Vice-President of Exploration and Acquisitions and Director. Mr. Archer was actively involved in the discovery and development of the Eleonore project, from the preliminary field campaign through to the sale of the deposit to Goldcorp. In November 2014, he joined Osisko’s management team following the Osisko/Virginia merger. He was elected President of the Quebec Prospectors Association in 1996 and 1997. Over the years, Mr. Archer has received, on behalf of Virginia, several prestigious prizes, including the Bill Dennis Award from the PDAC in 2006 for the discovery of the Eleonore deposit.

ANNIE DUTIL

Director

Annie Dutil is a member of the Quebec CPA Order and is Nomad’s corporate controller. Ms. Dutil brings over 15 years of extensive mining knowledge, specifically in the areas of public accounting, compliance with financial information obligations and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Nomad, Ms. Dutil has held a number of positions at PwC, including a role as director where she has led the Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services group in Montréal. In her current and previous roles, she has assisted several companies in their capital markets activities, including initial public offerings, financings, cross-border transactions and complex accounting and regulatory matters. Ms. Dutil is the co-founder of the Montreal chapter of Women in Mining and is involved in many community and philanthropic activities, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Factry, the School of the Creative Sciences, and Théâtre de la Banquette Arrière.

Jean des Rivières

Director

Mr. Jean des Rivières holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Master’s degree of Science in Geology from École Polytechnique de Montréal affiliated to the University of Montreal. He has over 35 years of diversified experience in the exploration and mining industries while working in more than 50 countries touching base and precious metals. He most recently held the position of global Vice President Metals Exploration at BHP and previously held managerial and technical positions at Rio Algom, BHP, and Noranda. With BHP, Mr des Rivières chaired the Inclusion and Diversity committee of the Americas. After a successful career, he recently joined the board of directors of First Majestic Silver Corp., Montero Mining and Exploration Ltd., and Midland Exploration Inc.

Project geologist for Midland Exploration, Jean-François holds a PhD from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in Mineral resources, specialist in zinc-bearing mineralization with an expertise in metallogeny of metalliferous deposits.

RICHARD ST-CYR, P. GEO.

More than 30 years of experience in mineral exploration in Quebec, British Colombia and Dominican Republic.

Project Geologist for Midland Exploration since 2012, Richard holds a Bachelor degree in Resources Geology from Université du Québec à Montréal. Before joining Midland’s team, he was a Project Geologist for Services Technominex – Aurizon Mines, Sirios and Unigold on several gold exploration projects. Between 1997 and 2006, he worked has a Project Geologist (5 years) and Technical Director (4 years) for the Nunavik Mineral Exploration Fund. At the beginning of his career, Richard worked as a Prospector for SOQUEM, Virginia Gold / Barrick Gold on gold projects in James Bay and Northern Quebec. Project geologist for Midland Exploration, Louis-Philippe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Université Laval. Prior to joining the team, he worked 4 years for Nemaska Exploration / Monarch Resources / Nemaska Lithium in the Nemiscau area where he managed and participated exploration campaigns for lithium, gold and base metals. Before joining Midland’s team, Philippe worked as an Exploration Geologist for Goldcorp, Ressources Sirios, Unigold and the Nunavik Mineral Exploration Fund (NMEF). At the beginning of his career, he also worked as an assistant geologist and a geologist for Virginia Gold Mines, Cambiex, Miramar Mining, Noranda Exploration, SOQUEM and Services Miniers du Nord on gold and base metals projects, mainly in James Bay. Moreover, he was at the origin of the discovery by prospection of the Cheechoo deposit in James Bay in 2010.

SYLVAIN TRÉPANIER, P.GEO.

Geologist Consultant

More than 20 years of experience in mineral exploration and research in Quebec.

Sylvain Trépanier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, a Master’s degree in Earth Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Université du Québec à Montréal. Sylvain began his career for Noranda in 1995 and worked on various projects in Quebec until 2001. From 2004 to 2012, he worked has a research geologist at CONSOREM. During his years working at CONSOREM, he has carried out numerous research projects applied to mineral exploration and has developed expertise recognized in Quebec in various fields related to exploration: lake-bottom, streams and tills sediments geochemistry, alterations lithogeochemistry, statistical data processing and potential mineral evaluation by artificial intelligence. He is the author of several scientific articles, research reports and public presentations. He designed and developed the Lithomodeleur software for geochemistry treatment, which is now widely used in Quebec by exploration companies, governments and universities. From 2012 to 2016, he worked for Virginia Mines and Osisko Gold Royalties as a Senior Research Geologist and was involved in most of the company’s projects in James Bay and the Labrador Trough. He is co-recipient of the QMEA Jean-Descarreaux Award in 2011 with the CONSOREM team. Mr. Trépanier joined Midland in November 2016 as a VP Exploration James-Bay/Northern Quebec.

MARIO MASSON, P. GEO.

V.P. Exploration

More than 30 years of experience in mineral exploration in Quebec.

Mario Masson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the Université de Montréal. Before joining Midland’s team, Mario worked several years has a geologist at Nipadex and Muscocho. In 1990, he started working for Noranda Exploration in Matagami has a Project Geologist and was a part of the team that found the Orchan West and Bell Allars deposits. From 2002 to 2007, he was in charge of the exploration activities in the Noranda Mining Camp has a Senior Geologist for Noranda Inc – Falconbridge ltée – Xstrata Copper.
